Ethos
A living code
We are a second chance space. For projects. For people. For possibilities.
Inspired by the web of yesterday. Forged by us. This isn't the internet we were handed. This is the one we're making - with care.
You're not late. You're right on time.
Core Values
Intentionality
We build slowly, deliberately, and without pressure to perform. Every channel, every post, every feature exists on purpose.
Mutuality
This isn't an audience - it's a collaboration. Everyone's voice matters, and no one builds alone here.
Transparency
We share how we work. We talk about what's changing. No behind-the-curtain nonsense.
Non-Extractive Culture
This space isn't for clout-farming or recruiting people into unpaid labor. We connect because we want to, not because we need something.
Gentle Accountability
We hold each other with kindness, not pressure. You're allowed to rest. You're allowed to try again.
What We Believe
- Everyone deserves another shot.
- We uplift process over perfection.
- Emotional safety and human-sized spaces come first.
- Conflict happens. We hold space for dialogue, not debate.
- Creativity is healing, not a hustle.
- This is not content. This is connection.
- We're here to re:connect, re:build, and re:do - together.
The Manifesto
A foundation for building the internet we actually want. Inspired by the web of yesterday and The Yesterweb. In honor of the ones who came before us. Rooted in reflection - and reborn through action. We're not just here to rebuild what we lost. We're here to imagine something better.
Social Responsibility
This space is not neutral.
We recognize that you can't include everyone in one community - and you shouldn't try. There are beliefs that hurt. There are systems that silence. We take the side of the marginalized, always.
This means:
- Oppressive behavior is not tolerated - whether rooted in race, gender, class, disability, orientation, or otherwise.
- When harm occurs, we investigate with empathy. If someone acts in ignorance, we teach. If they act with malice, we remove.
- Safety is not censorship. It's the soil that lets creativity grow.
We are not apolitical. We are intentionally just.
Collective Well-Being and Growth
This place only works if we all care for it - and each other.
To build a healthy culture, we practice:
- Sustainable selflessness: Help others when you can.
- Compassionate presence: Sometimes just showing up is enough.
- Emotional labor: Listening. Hearing. Pausing. Reflecting and asking for a moment before reacting.
- Creative optimism: Build towards something - not just in opposition.
Growth isn't a linear path, and you don't have to be perfect. Just show up with the intention to learn, and you belong here.
Rehumanizing Our Connections
We are not brands. We are not followers. We are not algorithms.
We are people - building things for each other, not for metrics.
So here, we unlearn:
- Treating others as assets, followers, or attention sources
- Treating people as romantic or sexual objects without consent
- Shaming rest, imperfection, or emotional vulnerability
Instead, we learn to:
- Relate as equals
- Consent to the space we enter
- Recognize that the way we behave is shaped by the spaces we're in
We are here to build better spaces, so we can become better people.
Social Etiquette
These are shared behaviors - not rules - that help make the space work for everyone.
Engage in Good Faith
Assume honesty. Ask before judging. Clarify before reacting. We're here to understand each other - not win arguments. When dealing with sensitive issues, others may not have all the knowledge they need. We should not attack well-intentioned people for this, and instead work toward mutual understanding.
Embrace Constructive Conflict
Disagreements aren't bad. They help us grow. Approach differences with curiosity, not combat. Debates divide - dialogue connects. Reconsidering your perspective doesn't mean reconsidering your position. If constructive conflict isn't possible, the best thing to do is disengage.
Share the Space
Let others speak. Don't dominate conversations. Keep things on-topic when needed. We should not make our own voices louder than others, being careful not to take up more than our share of space. Remember: we're all guests here.
House Rules
You're here because you vibe with the weird, the wild, the creative, and maybe a little chaotic. Here's how we keep this magical without it turning into chaos-fest 2000.
Don't be a jerk.
This one's simple: be chill. Be kind. If you're rude, toxic, or just generally a pain in the ass, I'll talk to you once. Keep pushing it? You're out. No drama, no exceptions.
Be nice-ish.
You're here because you're part of this weird little family. Try to get along with folks. Misunderstandings happen - most fights are dumb and fixable if you actually listen. Take a breath, ask questions, be open.
Be Cool, Be Wild, Be Groovy, Be YOU.
We're here to vibe. Make stuff, share stuff, be quirky, be loud, be soft, be anything. Respect other people's quirks while you do it.
Romance-free zone.
No dating. No flirting. Exceptions only if you're already dating someone chill. This isn't a hookup app - it's a creative co-op. Keep it platonic, keep it fun. If it naturally happens that way? Just be grown about it.
Respect everyone. Always.
Neurodivergent friends? Check. Different backgrounds, experiences, or energy? Check. Respect is non-negotiable. Ask questions, be curious, be open, and don't be judgmental. This is a safe space for everyone.
Your vibe matters.
If you want quiet, mute your mic or step out. If you want to contribute, do it with thought. If you're toxic, disruptive, or just making the place worse? Expect to get kicked. No apologies, just survival of the chillest.
Live a little.
Remind people you care. Talk things through. Don't take anyone for granted. You're all hand-picked weirdos in my eyes, so act like it. Love your friends, love yourself, do good work, make cool stuff.
Be different. Be curious.
Celebrate quirkiness. Ask questions instead of judging. Encourage creativity. Nobody here exists to copy anyone else - bring your weird, bring your style, and teach or learn along the way.
The Yesterweb showed us what's possible. RE:DO NETWORK exists to keep that spirit alive - while moving forward with purpose, protection, and people at the center.
This is not nostalgia. This is a blueprint.
This is RE:DO.
